My fundamental complaint comes to this: Everything is about "Stay away and let the economy wither". There is no consideration of what happens after that. Just "We can rebuild economies", with the same sort of logic and support as "Prayers and hugs" after every major disaster.
That is really getting my goat too, TB. The twerking nurses, the virtue signalling, the fake heroism, the fake tears, the celebs...
And out here in the Land Of The Dirt People, we watch delicate and intricate supply chains coming apart at the seams. To work, they have to run with the precision of a Swiss watch... and these posing goofballs are taking a sledge hammer to them. There are going to be some people in the days ahead that meet reality good and hard... and it will serve them right.
I hear you. I just passed on an opportunity to comment on our local FB page; the thread was full of people who are afraid of "opening" our country. For a moment, I thought about trying to educate them, but I knew it would be like spitting into the wind. Maybe I'll go back and try, because if we don't get back out there, our economy will crash and a virus will be the least of our worries.
SBRGirl - I have long ago given up any idea that anything on The Book of Face makes a difference. It has more and more become either a simple place for hobbies and tribes and family or a snake pit of shutting you down whenever you have a different opinion that is not "approved". Agreed that we need to get back out there; by and large, my fear is that crowd thinks it all happens magically (and will be in for a world of hurt when it does not).
Pete - See my comment. I have given up on doing so. There are people that I like as friends, and would like to keep it that way. The more I know, sometimes the sadder I become.
Linda, I am mostly tired of just watching basic economic foolishness and a love of power for the sake of power destroying (in some cases) a lifetime of work for people.
Maybe I am a cynic. But I do not see things getting back to "normal" within my lifetime.
Quartermain, I do to. Even if it is understated by those around, I feel it.
I am now getting to the point of my own contrarian attitude that once it is "all over", I do not know that I will feel like going out much at all. Not sure the government saying it is okay makes it so.
Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
I know sveral people that are determined to panic over this, TB. I think for most of them, it spices up their lives a little bit.
ReplyDeleteFar as I am concerned, the jig is up. Lockdown’s over, as is the drama and hysterics. I have better things to do.
I saw, Glen. Good for you.

More and more, just tired of the drama.

ReplyDeleteDon't waste your time... Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity...
