First Say To Yourself

  1. The math department head at Texas Technical in the early 80's failed The Calculus three or four times at the beginning of his college education. His example was brought up about how important it was to have the right mindset in college.

I was obsessed with troubleshooting systems and equipment when I was a young man. One day I understood that troubleshooting techniques are fine, but system familiarity is what I really needed. Then you can tell when it isn't running right reflexively.

The flip side of this is another corollary: It's not what you think you are that matters, but what you THINK, you are. Keep positive and curious.

I would also submit that holiness / Godliness keeps the distractions down so you can focus on what's important.

    1. STxAR, the Department head is a great example (Calculus was my least best performing class in college. Only class where I took the C and never looked back.

Systems is a good analogy for many things - know how they are supposed to work, and the issues sort of present themselves.

And holiness certainly helps to keep the mind focused on the important things at hand.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
