In the location of our hike, I was surprised to find trees literally growing out of a rock. Even in the most difficult of conditions, life continues to find a way.
I've told this story many times in the past on my blog but on one hike, I found a tomato plant growing from a crack in a rock with one single ripe tomato growing on it, in December. It was in a sheltered southern exposure cliff face. A tomato never tasted so good.
Ed, an old acquaintance that worked at water reclamation facility told me that tomato and corn are some of the most resilient seeds and outside of the plant there would always be a lot of each that survived the digestive system and processing.
I wonder how that tomato got there? A lone hiker with a lunch?
Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
Yah, Nature does find a way.
ReplyDeleteNylon12, it was amazing. Same when we went on our Whitney hike.
DeleteGod's handiwork. Thank you, TB.
ReplyDeleteYou all be safe and God bless.
I like that He stuffs trees in cracks, Linda.
DeleteTechnically, paper beats rock.
ReplyDeleteGood point Jess! I had not thought of that, but I guess the game really does reflect Nature.
