Apologies for the lateness of responses (and the generic post) - The Ravishing Mrs. TB and myself got back from a 5 day vacation.
I (by and large) tried to stay away from the outer world and partially succeeded. I tried to relax - and of course, had more thoughts that I will have to sort through. And of course today (Tuesday) I have to go back to work (Sigh. Digging out of my e-mail will take at least an hour).
But it was nice just to have a vacation to enjoy - sans children - without any greater agenda than just going.
For some reason, I can check out from the rest of the world, especially electronically, very easily on vacations. I enjoy grabbing for my book instead of my phone/ipad/electronic device of choice. But I admit, I do also enjoy coming back after vacation and catching up on everything I missed. Hope your vacation was relaxing!
ReplyDeleteEd, it was. I felt like I unplugged in a way I have not since late this Summer when, by force of no reception, I had to stay off. This was more of a choice.
DeleteHow wonderful for both of you. I traveled for work for 19 years. Staying in hotels probably 48 weeks of the year. Took a lot of soaps, lotions and shampoo. Realized one day that I couldn't possibly use it all up I began donating it to the abused women's shelter. Thrilled to get them.
ReplyDeleteGL, I do not think I could ever travel that much. At this point I pretty much limit myself to soap I will use - and anything that smells of mint!
