Nylon12, it does. It reminds me of the statement that no-one should ever be put in charge or office who desires to have power over someone else. They are not about fixing issues or making things better, only about control of others.
To my mind, the list of leaders in any field that demonstrate the quote are thin indeed.
Warren, the interesting thing to me is (to use MacDonald's lanugage) that he does not say "do not wage war on evil". What he does say is "wage war on the evil within yourself with as much energy and vigor as you do on the world." That is the part where a great many people often have the log firmly planted in their own eye (myself included).
Imagine, if you will, a world where everyone turned the critical eye inward to eliminate their own faults as they turned their critical eye outward to address the world's faults What would that look like.
