Can remember someone back in 2008 saying that "we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America". Someone is Russia in 1917 said essentially the same while in in 1925 a book was published in Germany saying the same.......When you're not even taught History you don't have a chance to learn from it.

    1. Nylon12, agreed that we have chance to learn from the history that we are never taught. At the same time, I think there is also a sense that people just do not want to know about the world that they live in. Where do my things come from? How are things related? What happens if? I am somewhat hopefully in that people ask questions about their food now, for example - but overall, too often their interest in the larger world ends at their door and whatever is seen on a screen.

  2. I concur. The hits over two years really did change a lot in me. My thinking and outlook are way different than two years ago. I'm still not sure what direction this will take, but it has been helpful to strip some dead wood from the tree of my life.

    1. STxAR, I wonder if - like forests - we occasionally need to experience the equivalent of a "forest fire" for renewal. As you suggest, nothing prunes away dead wood more quickly - and in some cases fire is the needed catalyst to sprout new seeds.

  3. Sometimes. But I do wish those sometimes didn't have to be violent.
You all be safe and God bless.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
