A Walk in the Snow: Part I

After the first day of snow, Uisdean Ruadh (for whom snow is more novel than I), wanted to go for a walk.  This is the road down to the main road - no words, just pictures.  Enjoy!

  1. Thank you and I can imagine how nice it must have been to see it with one's own eyes and in the company of family.

    1. You are welcome John. It was just my luck to be there when it happened; I am so glad I can share it (and be ready. This is pretty much what I write about all this week).

The trees do jump out when they're coated with snow don't they?

    1. Everything does, Nylon12. The third picture of the top is what I have always called tarweed, a small ground hugging plant. It is ubiquitous and unglamorous during the rest of the year, but looks magical now.

  3. Bah! I'm NOT going to thank you for sharing! How rude! lol!
Glad to see you got some moisture. It's funny though that when it snows all seems so quiet. Enjoy!

    1. Hobo, I know this is an annual reality for you, where it is just a novelty for me. We are indeed grateful for the moisture.

Walking in the woods in the snow can be a delight- especially at night with a bright moon. Inky black shadows with hard edges, and the rest almost like daylight. Quiet, all sound muffled.

    1. Uisdean Ruadh and I had discussed that, and how bright it would be with the moon off the snowed in pastures. Unfortunately, no moon for us that night or the night following, just clouds.

  5. I imagine it is quite novel for a good many of the residents out there. Just like shorts and a t-shirt outside at this time of the year would be quite novel for me.

    1. It is moderately novel, although just slightly up the hill they have it happen once or twice a year.

I cannot almost bear to tell you, but I wore shorts yesterday after getting back to New Home on Saturday night. Such a difference.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
