2025 Cambodia And Vietnam: Ta Prohm (III)

Although crowded with visitors when we went, one can imagine the eerie silence and solitude in centuries past when the temple was all but forgotten and only the trees, birds, and animals remembered.

This was enough of a "what people think an abandoned temple should look like" place that it was used in the 2001 movie Tomb Raider.  As a result, it is sometimes known as The Tomb Raider Temple.

Man's accomplishments pale compared to the consistency of Mother Nature over Time. Those trees.......mute sentinels to the Past TB.

    1. We think we build for the ages, Nylon12. Nature disagrees.

  2. I've never seen any of the Tomb Raider movies, but I can see why they chose this for a set.

Interesting photo of the propped up tree root (?)

    1. Leigh - It certainly looks like "lost temple" should.

I do not believe any of these are propped up; they just grew over the stone.
