Any idea of how old those fountains are TB? Had to search the InterNets to find out that cooling off in some are encouraged, big and deep enough. Ah......the things you discover before six AM.......:)
Nylon12, I suspect there was a variety of age based on the types and fittings. But I do think some of them could actually have been from 1600-1700s. I was very surprised at how prevalent they were.
Sitting here, I can think of at least three here in town, none of which I have ever seen working other than in pictures. They probably all date to the early parts of the 20th century. I'm guessing modern knowledge about waterborne diseases and water conservation have put the kibosh on them for now.
