Mass transportation and unknowns involved always make me nervous when elsewhere, especially in foreign countries. I always arrive where I intend earlier than necessary because I left early to compensate for all the things that made me nervous but never happened.
Ed, one of the greatest things that has helped me is The Computer in My Pocket. I used it both here and in Japan with no issues.
In this case, it was also a pretty simple trip: one train ride to a bus stop, then a 10 minute bus ride or so. The fact that the InterWeb tells you where to get off is a wonderful thing.
To be honest, this was the first time I can think of where I just went off and did something like this (in Japan, it was always to a destination I knew). I felt rather proud of myself that I was able to do it.
Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
0700 on Saturday? Where are the people? Thanks for getting up early to provide photos TB........:)
ReplyDeleteNylon12, I cannot tell you. It was very unexpected (to me) for a largeish city.

It does seem odd to see the streets so deserted. Everyone must have better things to do early on Saturday morning!
ReplyDeleteLeigh, I do not wonder that this is one of those differences between ourselves and Europe, this sense of "The weekend! I need to be up and doing!"
