Everyone Thinks...

  1. A good quote, but a I am an island style quote.

Seems the world often has ideas how I shall live.

  2. Show me a self made man,
And I'll show you the product of unskilled labor.

Not mine, but I own it. And I live it. I need outside of myself influence to change. The changes I come up with are suspect at best, dangerous at worst.

"It takes God in the man,
    For man to be man,
    As God intended
    Man to be."

    1. Too many people seem to lack the art of self reflection and considering internal change.

      I do like the quote.

  3. Justin O - I have removed your comment because, as noted below, profanity does not stand here. That said, I am reposting your quote without it:

"Blahh, Blahh, Blahh ,, if that was true meditation wouldn't be a Thing. Introspection isn't as common as it could be, it would be better if Everyone inspected their own inner workings and worked on themselves more fervently, but that quote is...."

I humbly disagree. I know of many people that practice such things as meditation (Christian, Zen, or otherwise) and still come at the world with the intent to bend it to their will. If the entire point in meditation is to reinforce the inner self and not change the inner self, then it is not really any better than a self help talk.

I will also note that the older I get, individuals on both sides that want to "change the world" prove the truth of this quote to me more and more.

    1. Have to agree with your last statement in reply, TB. Definitely a lot of people who could use introspection.
Or more talk (and listening) with God.

    2. Thanks for the reply. Took me a while to figure out Where did it go? Sorry about that.. Your well reasoned response is appreciated, too.

    3. No worries at all! Apologies for the delay; it took me a bit to get back to it.

  4. To me, this is somewhat similar to President Kennedy's statement in his inaugural address. "Ask not what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country."
    Thanks, TB.
You all be safe and God bless.

    1. I think so, Linda.

It is odd: When Kennedy made his speech, I think he truly meant it and people truly believed it. Now were anyone to make such a speech, I think most people would question the motivation and sentiment of it. Different times indeed.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
