2017 Winter Garden Update

The weather is getting almost spring-like again.  Time to start thinking about the garden.

Things actually made it through our wacky winter:



 My leeks...actually look like leeks:


And what is this?  Lettuce?  It has never grown at all!


My asparagus is trying:


But faces a local challenge from a varmint (seen against the fence):


Newly refurbished compost bin along with the next area I need to covert:


It is not a great deal to look at, I admit.  But far and away this is the best survival rate I have ever had.

  2. That's pretty good TB, my winter garden failed miserably :( But I have grandiose plans for the summer! :)

  3. That gizmo, friend Glen, is the TB High Density Light Absorbing Varmint Preventer (Patent Pending, also known as a black lawn chair) designed to prevent one Poppy the Puppy from chewing through the lid and rooting through the compost.

  4. Rain, this is best Winter Garden I have ever managed to cobble together. I, too, am very hopeful for spring. I really want to make an effort this year.
