A The Cat Arrives

This week, A The Cat came to live with us in New Home 3.0.

He had been back at our house with Poppy The Brave and the guinea pig since my move.  He even had a new sister (A the Female cat) come to live with him. Life change rather dramatically though, when he got a new roommate - a young Jack Russell Terrier who was very interested in cats.

Suffice it to say that after a great deal of consideration, we all decided he would be happier if he was living here.

The apartment is about half the size of the house and he does not have a catio - but he does have supervised visits on the balcony and his stress level will, over time, be a lot less.

He is not used to the noise of traffic quite yet and still growls and hisses a bit, but he is become more accustomed to this place every day.

We are glad he is here.

    1. Nylon12 - We think because he was a (literally) starving when we got him, he will always be a bit on the small side.

  2. Now to convince him he'll be happier there. :)

    1. The fact he has two humans almost completely to himself has not been a hard sell.

  3. I think cats are quite adaptable creatures, at least in my experience with ones in my younger years.

The first picture has me curious as to what it is you have venting out your window?

    1. Ed, they are remarkably adaptable.

The vent is for a portable air conditioner. Sadly, the one downside of our apartment is that there is no central heating or air, thus we need to supplement during the hottest and coldest parts of the year.

If A the cat is older, and it's "her" house then one of the most hyper breed of dog is introduced she would not be a happy camper. They are cute dog's but need lots of work in training in their young years.

    1. Anon - A is actually around five years old (we found him in 2020, during the height of the Summer of The Plague). His "sister", also A, was probably enough of an adjustment.

I have never dealt with a Jack Russell before. Having spent a little time with one, everything you say is true.
