2019 Garden Update

Thought I would show you a quick update on the progress of the Spring Garden:

My Lime trees survived the Winter!  And are supporting new growth!

Two volunteer leeks that showed up - and will be in leek pie soon:

Beans, Black Eyed Peas, and others doing well:

Onions starting to do their thing:

Overwintered Garlic:

 Volunteer lettuce:

Asparagus popped up in a hurry:

All the grains are doing nicely even after the late start:

Overall, I am very pleased with how planting a month earlier than I have done in the past has worked out.

  1. The other day we did bacon wrapped asparagus on the BBQ and it was SOOOO good.

Think you can do corn in your climate TB?

  3. Glen - I am now hungry again. Thank you.

I have tried corn multiple times over the years. It should grow, people do grow it - but I constantly seem to bottom out. Not sure why. I am trying different varieties, mostly drought tolerant.

  6. Thank you Leigh! Honestly, volunteers are the most fun thing about growing - I am always curious to see what will show up where.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
