Coming home, the most reasonable flight (per company policy) was transiting through Iceland, which was rather a shock to me.
Iceland Air's Saga class:
Icelandic beer brewed for Icelandair. It was pretty good.
Lunch? Dinner? Meal names lose meaning in time zones.
Ah, macaroons. The cookie I never remember to ask for but love when I have them.
View of Iceland from the air. I realized that it has been 7 years since we came here in 2018.
Literally had enough time to get off the plane, go through immigration, and transit to the boarding gate. Which made me a bit sad; I would like to go back again.
Interesting post TB, Dad spent 16 months stationed at Keflavik in 1942-43. An unexpected bonus flying this time eh TB?
ReplyDeleteNylon12 - It really was. I was shocked to find this was the cheapest transfer point home; I wish I had a day or two to stay longer.
DeleteI'm impressed you got a meal on a flight! I thought they didn't do that anymore (?). Looks delicious though.
ReplyDeleteLeigh, it is still a thing on International flights (thankfully). As this was the upgrade (thanks, business travel policies!), it was probably more upscale than the main cabin. It was quite delicious.
