    1. Sandi, there really are. And quite crowded together. Perhaps New York City may be the same in that sense; I have never been.

  2. When I look across landscapes like that, I am bewildered that people actually like living in such places. I much prefer my views with nary a house, or anything manmade with the exception of a fencepost, in sight.

    1. Ed, it is bewildering to me as well. And yet I think many people love it and actually crave it - the lack of immediately available anything and the wide variety of experiences can be a call for some.

To be fair to Tokyo, it really has been crowded in one form or another since Tokugawa Ieayasu made it his capital in the 1600's.

Boy, big city.....big big city......like Ed, living in that kind of environment is not for me, too far to go to see the horizon unsullied by buildings. Very nice to see such photos TB, mucho gracias señor.

    1. Nylon12 - I certainly cannot imagine living in that either. But it does make for some great pictures.

"Very nice to see such photos" - I will valiantly continue to sacrifice my sanity on your behalf.

  4. In general, I have to say that cityscapes are less appealing to me than rural. But the street level photos are interesting. The little tidbits of cultural difference are fascinating.

    1. Leigh, Tokyo is a city of neighborhoods and localities, which help to break up the monoculture of the cityscape - probably more so than many American cities as Tokyo is so large that has swallowed up entire towns and regions that had cultures and features of their own.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
