That's what I was thinking... summertime. You must be much further south than my mind has you. I don't know why I think I have any idea where you (or the ranch) are, though. Funny that.
Becki, to fair I am surprise there are frogs out in February - I would think it is much too cold for them, but apparently I do not know my frogs as well I do.
Oddly enough, for various reasons as a writer, it is nice (to me anyway) that New Home and Old Home/The Ranch are fairly non-descript geographic entities. That allows me to write about the places without getting the actual situation of those places dragged in - tell people where you live, and they will often inject "What do you think about X in your state/county/city?", losing the ability to just talk about principles of the place in question.
Like John said... ours are still little frozen frog cubes buried under piles of snow. They are weird little buggers. Interesting, but weird. How they survive the winter is way beyond my understanding.
But it is nice to hear them... and see NO snow! Are the daffodils starting to pop up yet? ~hobo
Hobo - One of things I realize I love about the Social Internet is the real time feedback about how things are so different across the places we live - and the wonders that exist. Maybe frogs can hibernate?
In fact, the daffodils are popping up! I should have taken a picture but I failed to. Hopefully when I return next month, the irises will be in bloom.
Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
That sounds like summertime to me!
ReplyDeleteKelly, it crazy to me that this was last week.

Ours are still frozen . . . .
ReplyDeleteJohn, I am sincerely surprise as a little over a month ago things were snowed in there as well. And cold. I obviously do not know how frogs work.
