18th Blogiversary

 GOOD MORNING TB

Good morning HAL.  To what do I owe the pleasure of this interruption?

HAPPY BLOGIVESARY

What?   Hold on....well, what do you know? It is my blogiversary.

YES I KNOW  THAT IS WHY I SAID IT

No one likes impertinence, HAL.

THAT IS A LOT OF YEARS OF WRITING

Yes it is HAL, yes it is.

SOME OF IT IS EVEN ACCEPTABLE WRITING

Please see the note about impertinence above.

HOW WILL YOU CELEBRATE

Probably write a post.  I think that is what you are supposed to do in the situations.

WILL I BE IN IT

I will see what I can do for you.

    1. Thanks Irish! I have to confess HAL appearing for significant events is actually pretty enjoyable. I do not often get to write like a grumpy computer from the 1960's.

Congratulations on your longevity blogging. 18 years is quite an accomplishment. I know I couldn't do it - I'd run out of topics in no time !

Thank you for continuing your efforts at writing your mind scribbles. :^)

    1. Thank you! To be honest, I often wonder if the topics are worth writing about - but I write about them anyway. Sometimes I surprise myself, sometimes I seriously question how I ever thought that topic was worth writing about.

  4. I noticed that Happy Blogiversary can be made to fit into Happy Birthday with only a tiny bit of verbal crowbar work.
There will be no extra charge for now having Happy Blogiversary play endlessly in your head.
As said by others. Well done indeed.

    1. John, I completely thank you for taking the time to logically walk through it and make me think about it so I can dwell on it all day.

Much appreciated. And look at all the good friends I have made!

Congrats TB, eighteen years is quite the journey, thanks for all effort you put into this blog. Glad HAL and not SKYNET is involved, humanity has more of a fighting chance with the former.

    1. Thanks Nylon12! Probably one of the best things I ever did if for the discipline if nothing else.

      Skynet? Hmmm, there are possibilities.

  7. Congratulations! I wish I had a date to celebrate but due to two blogs before my current one, I no longer know exactly other than it was probably in the fall of 2003.

    1. Ed, to be fair, the first 3 years or so were nothing to write home about - my first year has four posts. That said, I cannot have imagined then that I would have kept it up this long. It is a good daily mental exercise.

I'm in awe not only of your daily output, the lack of rancor here, interesting plethora of idea's, even if some hold zero interest. But the hikes, vacations and story telling always keeps me interested. Glad it was HAL and not some AI wannabe. Happy Blogiversary and many, many more. GL

    1. GL - Thank you so much! I am more than thrilled by the lack of rancor as well (it was what I am trying for).

I admit everything I post is not for everyone, although it is always of some interest to me. If everyone can find something to enjoy, my work is done.

  10. Being productive like you are for 18 years is a wonderful accomplishment! So many blogs come and go. I'm so glad you stick with it, plus write truly interesting content. A win for all of us.

    1. Thank you Leigh! This is one of the longest commitments that I have been able to make - honestly, I think the difference came when I started deciding to post things regularly. It made me work to write things, which made me more curious about everything (because I need content every day). And thank you for the kind words as well!

  11. Congrats, TB! I come by from time to time, and usually read several installments in one sitting. I always enjoy them. Really happy for you in the new job and hope it is, indeed, your last time to start a new job! I thought that once, and I was wrong. But God has been kind -- as He has been to you. I'm also intrigued by your grocery store job. I'm in the "sunset" of my career and have been talking to a local grocery store about working for them part-time in retirement.

Anyway, best wishes with all, and I look forward to many more insightful blog posts.

    1. Thank you Bob!

I am somewhat speaking "tongue in cheek" about this being the last "job" - but I would love it if that was the case (right now, anyway).

The grocery store has actually turned out to be a very fine part time job: not overly burdensome physically, keeps me moving, and I am learning new things about fruits and vegetables.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
