Wonderful photos. I had to take a break from my photography course because I'm overrun with tomatoes, figs, and pears that require processing. I'll be glad when canning season is over and I can get back to other interests.
Leigh, one of the things that really struck me is how varied the textures are in Nature and how plain they are in civilization. We prefer smooth, almost featureless in everything that surrounds us. Our technology trends towards this as well.
I will be glad when you are able to restart your photography series as well! In a way, these photographs are somewhat improved because of that series, so hopefully this is a wonderful full circle.
Is that rock on the bottom picture basalt? I ran into some trouble with loose shale near Missoula, MT. It sliced up my tires and I had a double flat on the top of a mountain. Had to get towed down. That was a long night. After that, I never went very fast at all when climbing a mountain road.
Ed, that is one thing that did come up when we were on our recent hike. I tend to go a little slower for the same reason, which does make it a bit difficult when you have a spot to hit before the evening.
Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!

ReplyDeleteSTxAR, I honestly do not remember my geology as I should - but there was plenty of granite around, so it very well could be.
DeleteYes, rock and its sharpness is something I have a new appreciation for.
Great eye for textures, TB. God has a great hand in our world.
ReplyDeleteYou all be safe and God bless.
And a very great Hand indeed, Linda. They were so wonderful.
DeleteThere is never a shortage of things to pique my interest when hiking. I suppose it is because I am moving slow enough to notice them.
