Very good advice. I don't believe I CAN save my own soul, but you do have to cultivate an attitude that doesn't run folks off at first glance.
I got a chance to explain the need for a Saviour to a young man on Friday. Maybe 5 minutes of explanation, and his face was priceless. He grew up in church, but it was a feely place. Deep study wasn't on the agenda, and it was fun to watch his face as some doctrine got in there and started to rattle around. Fun times!
STxAR, I follow a group that includes quotes by GK Chesterson, George MacDonald, and C.S. Lewis. They are almost always relevant, something that surprises people since they all wrote in the late 19th and early to mid-20th Century. If we would study the classics more, and "popular Christian classics" less, we would have a better presentation overall.
