Don't forget they have a middle name. I grew up calling them jack rabbits, never knowing they were named for their ears... at least until I read an 1800's letter.... jackass rabbits...
We use to have a pair of dogs who had a great system for hunting bunnies. They tend to run in a big circle, so while Daisy chased them at bay, Hope lagged behind silently to make the capture.
