There are two must watch items for me during the Thanksgiving season. The first, of course, is "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving", which remains one of the greatest commentaries on Thanksgiving and the true meaning of it, much as "A Charlie Brown Christmas" offers the same for Christmas.
The second, of course, is the timeless Turkey Drop of WKRP:
Was lucky enough to have watched it when that episode first aired in 1978 (Bailey and Jennifer!).......... "As God is my witness..."

DeleteI didn't watch much tv when that was on, but my buddy told us about it the next day. Every spare minute after school was basketball practice and farming jobs to get a buck for gas.
ReplyDeleteI was chief engineer at a few radio stations. That side of the mic is crazier than a looney bin. The few episodes I've seen of that show were amazingly accurate with the dynamics and personalities... True to life and very well written and acted.
STxAR, I think that was part of what made it so enjoyable: it was like a radio station, or at least what people thought a radio station should be like.
