Gone Hiking II - Wildflowers

We were blessed with a multiplicity and variety of wildflowers on our hike.  Enjoy!

  1. I always end up with a lot of flower pictures where ever I go.

    1. Ed, now that I am going more different places, perhaps I am just conscious of the variety and differences of them. In two pictures above, there are white and pink flowers that otherwise look exactly the same. They were within a foot of each other.

  2. I recognized all of those and wondered why - then I saw the altitude. Bingo.

    1. John, I am only slowly becoming aware of the differences. My parents are at a lower elevation and so we see similar flowers, but not the same ones.

  3. I'm always curious as to the kinds of wildflowers in other regions. There are so many, it would be impossible to know them all, but they deserve appreciation.

    1. Leigh, I do not know that I have become as conscious of them as I have since I started hiking, especially as I have the comparison of my hikes and the flower here at The Ranch. They are only the sorts of things that one can truly see and enjoy if walking, not just by whipping by in a car. Another thing technology has robbed us of.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
