Linda, I think we have done a dis-service by de-emphasizing our link to those that came before us. We have an obligation - not just to ourselves, but to those who came before - to live lives of meaning and significance, or else we put all of their sacrifices to naught.

Long removed from most of society now. Or else we would have so many people who cry because they see the word "Trump", etc.
