Not Designed That Way

  1. NO we were NOT!!! Our bodies require physical activity and basic food and relaxation...no overload of technology that leads to stress and burnout!

  2. As I was discussing with a friend, I wish someone would do a controlled study on modern living versus a defined basic living. I think the results would be interesting.

  3. I will say up front that you are right, TB, but the darndest thing just happened in my world: A fella I knew from high school - who, unbeknownst to me, goes to our church - just stroked out and is in an induced coma in the hospital. When we were kids he was driven, physically and mentally fit, type A personality.
I was laid back, ate what I wanted and a little over on the rotund side. And today, he's knocking on heaven's door, and I am waddling around with the dawgs, shovelling snow, and still no real problems. My brother who runs death races has diabetes. One of my camping buddies, 8 years younger than me, just got diagnosed with blood pressure problems.

I shouldn't brag, I could do the same thing as any of them as soon as I finish typing this AND fall down the stairs with an armload of pies. But it makes ya think.

There's a genetic lottery going on out there too.

  4. Oh, absolutely genes play a part Glen. Same story for me - people my age or less that I went to high school with just dying or in terrible health. Genetics do play a part. That said, I think how we tend to live now- generally speaking - creates a general environment where problems can more easily develop.

Comments are welcome (and necessary, for good conversation). If you could take the time to be kind and not practice profanity, it would be appreciated. Thanks for posting!
