So the McHenery flag, the Grand Union, etc is still to be respected like the current one. I used to hang every flag from the Betsy Ross to the current one around the porch on flag day and the Fourth. I have a large burial flag that I'd fly in the middle. It's been really difficult to get that done the last two years...STxARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04588850178293194825noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14404262.post-10265973650513633962022-08-03T05:58:08.908-07:002022-08-03T05:58:08.908-07:00Nylon12, the larger black cannons are actually fro...Nylon12, the larger black cannons are actually from the Civil War. The smaller ones were more 1812 specific; I believe the range was about 1,000 yards. That is why the British had to use the more inaccurate rockets and cannons instead of the mortars.Toirdhealbheach Beucailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14872794169534403463noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14404262.post-39532149657475382012022-08-03T05:56:24.848-07:002022-08-03T05:56:24.848-07:00Thank you for the link Ed! For many years/decade plus after, I used to publish a transcript of it that I typed out on my blog post for the 4th of July. I somehow got out of the habit and forgot about it until reading this post and I did a quick google search. Where before it wasn't generally available on the internet back then, it is all over it now and easy to find. I know now that it does have some inaccuracies but I still get chills listening to it.Edhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13214319366049620074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14404262.post-52439250657640301862022-08-03T03:11:02.716-07:002022-08-03T03:11:02.716-07:00Thanks for increasing my knowledge base about Fort...Thanks for increasing my knowledge base about Fort McHenry.
