Early June

Green grass and brown hares,
Heat pregnant with almost-rain:
Summer has arrived.

    2. i love it when you do haikus and then i am challenged to do one back! i find it funny that Rain said that summer is right around the corner...it is the same for us but both us and Rain do live in canada. i am glad that you liked the haiku. xoxox

    2. Yes we do. Every year. I don't know why, other than there is a bayou across the street.
      And everything watches them lay, too. Starlings are the biggest culprit, followed by whatever else we have around.

      One year there were a lot of coyotes, but haven't seen them lately. Same for red fox. Lot of raccoons and possums. All of which like eggs.
